Families and whānau who provide personal information to Open Home Foundation are assured that the information is held securely at the Service Centre to be accessed by OHF staff involved in the provision of services to that family.
OHF will make every effort to protect the confidentiality of families’ information. We would normally seek permission before disclosing information about an individual to anyone else, but may be required to disclose it to a third party e.g. Oranga Tamariki under statute or contract.
In the unlikely event of a change of service provider, information about families will be transferred to the new designated service provider or held in secure storage by Oranga Tamariki until a service provider is designated.
Individuals have a right to request access to the personal information held about them by OHF. If an individual thinks the information is inaccurate they can talk to a social worker about having it corrected.
To request personal information held by us, write to:
Open Home Foundation National Office
PO Box 31036,
Lower Hutt 5040
Or email: inforequests@ohf.org.nz
OHF is committed to providing professional and relevant services. To maintain a high standard our social workers are trained, supervised and required to be registered (or working towards registration) as Social Workers in accordance with the Social Workers Registration Act 2003.
